Character name: Katsuragi Yako
Fandom: Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro
Point in canon taken from: End of episode 22/Beginning of 23 of the anime, while she's flyinh to South America to look for her mother.
Appearance: Yako is blonde, with brown eyes, and rather short, just a little over five feet. She's thin, with a decent figure, and always wears a pair of odd hairclips that resemble fanged grins. Yako is often shown wearing her school uniform: A pink sweater over a white collared shirt, a short pleated skirt, and dark knee-socks. She also wears other clothes, including a maid costume and vacation clothes, but the uniform seems to be her default outfit.
Personality: Yako is very sweet, showing empathy to almost everybody she meets, including murderers. She's rather humble, and dislikes being famous. Yako is very loyal, and cares deeply about those she considers her friends. She seems to be more interested in food than boys, most likely due to her all-girl's school, metabolism, and time consuming job. Despite her constantly cheerful demeanor and bright smiles, Yako is still depressed over her father's death, and lonely due to her mother's constant work.
History: Yako's story begins with the murder of her father. Killed in a locked room, with no evidence, the scent of her father's mystery attracts Neuro, a mystery-eating demon from Hell. He forces her to become his mask, solving mysteries while giving her all of the credit. He frequently abuses her, both verbally and physically, and tortures her (dragging her by the head, throwing her, twisting her head 360 degrees, etc.). Yako has a huge appetite, eating an incredible amount, yet somehow staying skinny, earning her the reputation as the "Piggish School-Girl Detective". She loves food, and is a good cook as well.
She and Neuro solve many cases, and Yako slowly begins to mature and even solves a few mysteries on her own. After a case involving a plastic surgeon and his wife, Yako is informed that her mother, afreelance writer, has been thrown in a South American prison. Yako immediately sets off to South America, and is abducted here while on the plane.
